Unknown sources disclosed information towards the newssite X-bit Labs concerning AMD; AMD's hexacore cpu's will have a so-called C-state performance boost function. This function is comparable with Intel's Turbo Boost.
Intel's newest Core i5 and Core i7 feature Turbo Boost; when not all cores are enabled the clocking speed of the enabled cores can have a significant boost. AMD would be planning to introduce a feature like Turbo Boost in their hexacore-cpu's, codenamed Thuban.
