Google will support encrypted search somewhere within a few days. Users will get to choose to search through a https page, thus improving privacy.
The encrypted search will ensure that only Google knows what you're searching. Even googling while using public hotspots or the oh-so-secure wifi of your neighbors will ensure the privacy needed for something as personal as search queries.
The encryption will be launched somewhere in the coming week. Earlier this year Google has enabled encryption for Gmail users, which was implemented to counteract hacking of the Gmail accounts.
