SysAdmin Day, a source of joy for the last ten years in the hearts of sysadmins all over the world. It started in 2000 by Ted Kekatos, a sysadmin who got the idea from an advertisement of HP, in which every user gives their sysadmin presents, because he bought the printer of the ad. Kekatos then wondered why he never got a thank you from any of the users, so when he realised it wasn't his fault he organised this awesome genius holiday for sysadmins.
Best move ever if you ask me. Only down side on this is that often the only ones who know about SysAdmin Day are the sysadmins themselves. But that's not so bad, i'm going out to get myself some pie!
